old stuff part 3... Cappadocia

(Susanna, Luana, unsere Hoehlen!!!!!!!!!!)

Once upon a time, Giant Mother Rock from Rocky Moon threw her son, a meteoite, down to Earth.  This was where he had met Sandy, an exotic-looking boulder that was seeking for adventure and rolled down her way to some vast plains in the heart of Central Anatolia.  It was love on first sight. Together they were a happy couple and had many, many children....  What you can find today in Cappadocia is a land of rocks, the children of the children of the children of the children of the children.... of Sandy and Giant Mother Rock's son, the nameless meteoite. The rocks love to play around and to confuse people who come to visit, especially foolish looking tourists. Only a chosen few are actually able to stay without getting lost.  You have to pay attention, only then you can hear the rocks talk to each other (and snore at night).  They know of all the living creatures that enter their world.  For example those small people who inhabited the area some centuries ago and actually stayed until quite recently (they left in the middle of the 20th century!).  And many more weird creatures.... most of them lose their ways in the labyrinths of caves, diappearing and reappearing paths and tunnels, some never return......

We were there and saw it all!!!

We left Cappadokia in the snow... and cycled for two days until Nigde from where we finally took a train down  to the South Coast.

The point is always to find a good spot to camp...

here!
